When I write a story, I do not plan to go to hit a Japanese or a Chinese reader. Simply, I have fun doing it. The stories that I pose are natural, I can not explain. They are very intimate, very personal, and when I write I dig in my mind, my soul. That, precisely, why not, you can also global. It may well happen. What we must try to be authentic.
speak to me. I know myself. I'm just saying that every book I go down, more and more. To know better, I turn increasingly to the bottom of the well. Metaphorically. I also like to break walls. Transfer them. Go to the other side and sniffing. Then I go back. That is to write a novel. Go for the dark, what you do not know. If you try, you can do well. If you are able to pass these boundaries, you become someone of interest globally and find common souls in Asia, in Africa. If you have the courage to cross the wall, the border to which you feel alone and unarmed. Go through the wall and can become another. You can be free, too. In my novels I try that happen.
I use language as a tool. A tool I can use with great effectiveness. But no more. That is why critics and writers attack me. I seek originality of its own, away from what they proclaim. Neither their circles I frequent. I do not belong to any group, and Japan are supposed to be part of one. So I left my country a few years.
