Paul Cézanne ( January 19 of 1839 - October 22 of 1906), painter French postimpressionist , considered the father of modern art whose work laid the foundations for the transition between the artistic conception nineteenth to the art world of the twentieth century new and radically different. However, while he lived, Cezanne was a painter who worked ignored in the midst of severe isolation. He mistrusted critics, had few friends and, until 1895 , spoke only occasionally. It was a "painter of painters" 1 that critics and audiences ignored it, being appreciated by only a few Impressionists and, at the end of his life for the next generation ( nabis the or Pont-Aven school ).
